    Hello Mark

While I don't have your part, here are some strategies

    1) purchase another sextant of the same type and salvage the part.

    2) it appears you have all of the pieces to the part.  Any competent machine shop can duplicate it for you.  This won't be cheap but will be 100% effective.

    3) purchase another sextant and abandon the current one.  Unless you are bound to the current sextant, it will be easier to just obtain another working sextant

    Good day,

I have a 1970's sextant (Simex Mariner- made by Tamaya) that has a broken part and I would like to see if you have a replacement.  The tightening knob post which holds the telescope ring arm to the sextant frame has sheared off.  Now I cannot mount my telescopes or even the ring.  It is a complex bit of engineering with differing threads, and set screws which prevent jury-rigging a fastener (not that I would desire to do so).  I can add an image to illustrate.  If you have such a part, please let me know and we can make a deal.

    Thank you,
