Thank you Paul, for that explanation.
Zero G shouldn't affect the observation. The friction among the sliding and rotating members of the sextant should preclude it inadvertently moving and causing an errant observation.
If the ISS windows have parallel surfaces and are flat, then the observation will be fine as well. George answered that question for me long ago. But these aren't simple windows, as George and I discussed, and could (potentially) be part of the experiment. I look forward to an update, when you guys find out more.
