Hello,
I think it is an ordinary 1960ies or 1970ies Russian SNO-M that has been polished. Therefore there is every chance this sextant is not a genuine WW2 KriegsMarine item.
Furthermore the C-Plath logo on the alidade almost covers the full width of the alidade and is far too big. Real C-plath logos are much smaller and are about half as tall. Therefore this item is likely to be a forgery.
Good (painted) SNO-Ms go for about 200$-250$ on Ebay. Real WW2 KriegsMarine sextants were painted black.

Gentlemen,Have a look at this sextant.I have never come across an unpainted sextant (except the cheapo knock off reproductions). It looks like the WWII type used on U-boats (aluminium) but the U-boat sextant was painted black. Also, note the two objects on either side of the alidade. This sextant looks like it is made out of stainless steel.Anyone know anything about it?Robert
