I've been asked if my sextant was a camera several times. Once, my neighbor asked if I was using an astrolabe. At least he was on the right track.
Only one person has known what it is. I would not have picked him out as the one who would know, either. He was a bit dishevelled and looked rather indigent. Nice guy, though. We had a brief conversation about celnav and went our separate ways.
