Tom,
I think Frank was referring to starting the video with the Sun off the horizon (above or below) so that both limbs would be recorded transiting the horizon. Reviewing the video would give the navigator exact time to the second at the tangent when arcing the sextant back and forth. If audio is going then it would pick up the shortwave radio time tick to check the camera clock. The arc reading is then voiced into the mic to complete the video CN production.
