Antoine wrote, about Andres' posting- "Anyway that's fine to see a number of French charts on your site. I'm feeling home on your site, since I have sailed many times in the areas you are displaying !" Those charts cover a corner of France with which I, too am very familiar, in my 8-metre boat, though those days are now over, so this is pure nostalgia. I invite Navlist members to take a good look at the way that coast is lit. The French navigation lighting is quite superb; well thought out to remove ambiguity, in the choice of sectors and leading-lines. I have always felt well-looked-after in making those tricky passages in the dark, well before the days of GPS. Far better than we get on our side of the Channel.
