Hi Frank
I was a bit surprised when it surfaced (so to speak) in our local news headlines.
As you point out - the tone of the headlines suggest prior problems in this long venture between Australia and USA to discover Endeavour's resting place.
As a New Zealander - Australians are known to get into splats easily but they are are more friendly spats with their pro-USA colleagues.
Kiwis (New Zealanders) are less pro-USA than pro-UK being Australia was a penal dumping ground for UK whereas NZ was not.
However, that aside, it does seem a little dogmatic of Australia claiming 'Ownership Rights' given the history of the Endeavour's final days as a Royal Navy's hire.
It seems the Brits would have more ownership rights than Australia.
But hey nothing like a bit of good ole history to shove COVID off the front page for a few minutes.
