I reduced and plotted 3 or sequential AH sun sights for 3 different times separated by a few hours, and the resulting fix was about 7 nm off my GPS position. That is about the same as what I got from other direct and AH sun sights.
The individual AH sights, however, created a tighter smaller triangle plot than the other sights.
Interesting and something more to work on.
My earliest AH sights were fairly inaccurate because I hadn't understood my sextant wasn't quite vertical. I've been thinking it might help to have a little bubble level or something like that mounted on top of or below the horizon mirror.
Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts on that?
Thanks!
Daniel H.
