Re: Sight reduction - Ultra compact reloaded

    Alain,

The PDF attachments should explain some back history for this method.  The original intent was to go as compact as possible without the use of logs. The final table and graph is a single page both sides. The Hanno Ix table uses 10' intervals of natural four place haversines. This requires mental interpolation which isn't to difficult. Also required is a four place multiplication step which I find faster to do longhand rather than using a log table. The Hanno Ix azimuth graph is good enough to the nearest degree and is printed on the back of the 10' natural haversine table. The final single page is best printed on waterproof paper and can be folded to fit in a wallet. Hc altitude precision is around 2' of arc.
