Greg. A bit off topic, but the RAF had big wide mouthed stew style vacuum flasks. You had to dunk the coffee out with a paper cup. Lying down was possible for VIPs etc. There was a visual bomb aiming couch below the pilots, except we usually stored the door ladder on it to facilitate easy bale out for the rear crew. If you laid the ladder upside down on the door (so it would fly off easily in an emergency). You could lie on the couch if the nose wasn’t full of luggage.
