All: I am not a mathematician, astronomer or a teacher, just a small boat sailor. I DR mostly in my head or use a pencil when it gets dicey. I resort to the nearest whole degree on my celestial navigation. I think that 3 decimal places is fantastic accuracy and sail using the principal of the three "L's", Lead, Log, Lookout. The original intent of the Silicon Sea navigation problems were to stimulate discussion on the Navigation-L list. The legs were posted "as is" with mistakes and errors for that reason. For personal reasons, I don't have the time or the inclination to continue Silicon Sea to it's completion. Please post your problems with any of the legs to the list...that's what it was set up for. If anyone would like to take over the Silicon Sea problems I am willing to provide any help you may need. I will be updating the archive (ssea.zip) shortly.
