?Nice analysis running through those sights in the old navigation workbook.?

Thanks for the kind words.  Thank you for pointing us to the Blunt collection.  (I was a member of Mystic Seaport for many years, starting in the old days when the ferry ?Brinckerhoff? was on the beach  ( http://www.mysticseaport.org/images/site_images/75th_Anniversary/1950___60/51_8_2_Aerial_Seapo_copy.jpg ), the Japanese submarine was still in the collection, and the Morgan sat on the bottom.)

?Did you discover that the data for many dates are calculated twice? You can see that John Layton and his wife Elizabeth each worked the numbers on those dates.?
    !
This explains an entry further down the page that puzzled me.  The sight reduction (for the next day) results in a Longitude of 129?09, but it?s then averaged with an undocumented (perhaps, she did it in another notebook) result of 128?56, giving 129?02.

Relax. Yahoo! Mail virus scanning helps detect nasty viruses!
