BTW, I think the Kindle is a pretty amazing device. Okay, it's a bit difficult to "flip through" a book, but the clarity of the display is superb, you can adjust type sizes, power consumption is minimal (thanks to the specific display technology) and a whole host of other features make the Kindle a very desirable item. To me, the biggest advantage is that one can store a whole bookshelf of books within a thin, tablet-sized piece of electronic gear. I can think of a whole host of activities (everything from long airplane flights to relaxing on the balcony of a beachfront hotel) where a Kindle full of books would be way more convenient than a suitcase of books.

Shipping for the hardcopy Skyhorse NA from Amazon is $3.99, bringing the delivered cost up a bit over $14. That assumes you aren't putting together a $25 order to get free shipping. So the Kindle version is still more expensive.

"I noticed that it is available on the Kindle (Amazon's electronic book reader) and was hoping that would prove to be a $5 edition (bits are a lot cheaper than paper). Surprise, the Kindle version is $16.50!"Are you comparing the paper book without shipping to the digital book WITH shipping? As I understand it, most Kindle prices include the overhead of the built-in cellular delivery in the standard Kindle devices.Incidentally, it's available on iTunes for iPhone/iPad/iEtc for $14.99.-FER
