It is a Bate slide rule of ca. 1825, based, indeed, on Thomson's "longitude scale". There are two more in the NMM Greenwich.
@ Herbert: The 3D slide rule is still missing. It was lost or misplaced while it was transferred from the DTM to the Archenhold-Sternwarte (or vice versa).
