Re: Small booklet of EOT and Dec

    Greg,

Thanks for your reply.  I download the Astronomincal Phenonim ( s ) from the USNO website every year and included in the small booklet is a table of EOT and Dec.  Two pieces of paper along with your sin-log-cos tables I am set!

What I was looking for was historic booklets - just a name or better yet an example.  In the Australian musems there were several examples ( inside glass cases ) of little books used locally.

My thinking was after a navigator had a Bowditch, or Nories set of tables all that was needed were a few pieces of paper with EOT & Dec.  Seems to me it would have been cheeper to buy a few years of EOT & Dec ( six or eight pieces of paper ) than buy a US or Brittish Nautical Almanac - 99% of the data was not needed.  It seems that this is what they did in Australia in the 1800's but maby because they were so far from England or the US.

Just woundering is someone knew of a historic ( 1800 - early 1900s ) example.  I know of Brown's Almanac from around 1875 and Reeds from the early 20th C. but these seem to be books, not small booklets ( like the Farmers Almanac )

    Thanks,      John H.
