yes,the RDF certainly had its place back in the 80s. I even remember my first expensive Decca going down a couple of times, leaving me at the mercy of some pretty distant marine beacons in the middle ot the Irish sea. A few long wave radio stations would be a reassuring thing even now. Hope they forget to switch off some of these remaining NDBs to continue the fun.
