Frank,
Got 3 "black friday" RCA Voyager 7 tablets for $30 each at Walmart and sold 2 on eBay for $45 each (in less than 1 hour).
The remaining one I use for celnav. The only problem is, being android and google related, the seperate 32gb chip I installed is locked by google/android so that data such as spreadsheets can't be saved once modified back to the chip. That is- any changes made to a spreadsheet can't be saved. The original file remains intact, of course. (Storing files on a cloud server isn't something suitable to me- I like my privacy and freedom). But there are plenty of pdf files (HO 249, HO 229) that are perfect for situations like this. I've installed all of Peter Hakel's spreadsheets on the tablet.
Paper and pencil are what I use primarily but a quick reference to the NA from Navsoft on the tablet (or my Kindle) saves a lot of paper printing.
