    And here's that "little bite taken out of the Sun" repeated a dozen times over...

    I wandered around my backyard for a while looking for a nice shade tree spot. Got this photo a few minutes before maximum eclipse. These Sun images about two inches across. Therefore the "pinhole projection" points in the tree canopy were about 18 feet away, That's allowing the usual ratio of 1-to-108. The actual ratio today is 1-to-[3438/(2·15.8)] or 1-to-108.8. Yeah... "about" 18 feet is certainly close enough!

    I think Apple sponsored this eclipse. Looks like the Apple log. Then again, the photo was taken with an iPhone, so maybe the Sun images look like the Apple logo every day, and I never noticed before!
