I have made a few changes to my web apps. In particular, they are smarter in angle input. If you type a latitude or perhaps a lunar distance angle as "14 21", the apps will now format this as "14° 21' " as you type. Similary, if you enter a UT as "4h15m30s", the apps will format that as "4:15:30". You can also enter decimal degrees and times: "14.350125" will be formatted as "14.350125° ". The apps will not prevent you from entering data as you like, and no conversion is performed. The new formatting does not change the computation process in any way. It's just a better nudge for user input. Please let me know if you spot any input bugs or platform/browser anomalies.
Have you tried the new capability in the Lunars Analysis/Clearing app? You can shoot and clear lunars for any navigation stars now. Try a Moon-Polaris lunar. I'll be talking more soon about "Latitude by Lunar", and if you shoot a Moon-Polaris lunar, you can start thinking about how that might work...
Web Apps:
- Nautical Almanac data
- USNO clone
- Lunar Distances Almanac
- Clear a Lunar (set up for a Polaris lunar)
