From Latitude 47° North, was the Southern Cross visible in some remote past, partially ? entirely ? and if so by what date did it show highest in the Sky at culmination ?
Same question for next occurrence of such an event if it has earlier occured in the past.
Yes, precession brings the whole thing into view at this latitude. Try Stellarium set to about year +18000 (or I guess year -8000 would be just as good). It's about 15 degrees above the horizon. Nearby millenia may be slightly better.
Depending on what you mean by "remote", could look into the proper motion of these stars. :-)
