Hello!
I'm getting some private comments regarding the PDF of the "9049" document - the OCR layer is obscuring the text. Here is the version without the OCR.
As some other comments revealed - there was a prior discussion of the Wulf's grid and Kavrayskiy's equidistant grid. Here is the cleaned-up PDF on the ARG1 instrument (courtesy Mr LaPook).
I knew that the Wulf's grid should be used as a faster-than-lightning SR method, because the inventor in his 1909 article suggested the grid exactly for solving "cosmographical" and geographical problems. The (hard to find) article features several example problems (with solutions) like building a sundial for a wall at some inconvenient orientation angle.
Regards,
Tony
