Great Story Paul, but I still think that while NASA could use the Space Pen, the earthlings bound to ground and gravity only saw them as a novelty.
Even when you fly a small or commercial plane, gravity still has a hold on you and when engines fail and power is lost, gravity wins. Gravity after all is the Law, and the only truly enforceable one.
Even the weightlessness of space has its drawbacks, as satellites and SkyLab fell back to earth in due course.
Space Candy also came in grape flavor. Remember? Dark Blue for the Grape and Red lithography for the Cherry.
The innocence of youth has been replaced by the horrors we hear in the news today. I think that is why so many are nostalgic for the "good old days" of the 60's. They were not so good were they? But nostalgia does see life through Rose Colored lenses.
