Roger,
I did notice a slight tendency of the Fisher refill to blob but no worse than the Papermate that I had been using. As long as the ink doen't run when it gets wet then I'm good. I like the blackiness of the Fisher refills as well as the smoothness of the ball on paper. Papermate gets it done also at 50 cents but they run out fast. The Fisher goes until the pen gets lost.

Space pens are compact and inexpensive, and I used to keep one to write up my pilot's log. Unfortunately, in my experience the ink is very thick and viscid so the flow tends to leave lots of unsightly blobs: not what I like in a permanent record.
As the saying goes, "your mileage may vary".
