Reading through the Bowditch 1995 edition, Chapter 21 on Navigational Mathematics, I was playing with the different equations in "Table 2115. Formulas for solving oblique spherical triangles." The first case--a, b, C known--the formula to find B was as follows and attached: sin B = (Sin C * sin b) / sin c Sin c is not stated as a known. Even if I solve for it and plug it in, it does not seem to work. Nor does the sine of any known. Before we go down that path, I understand the usual cel nav formulas use straight Lat and declination instead of the complementary angle as cos x = sin (90-x) and vice versa. What am I missing here?
