I thought NavListers might like to see the view from the cockpit of a Red Arrow during their VE day anniversary fly-past over Buckingham Palace today. Don't forget its 360-degree view, so you can check that the others are tucked in nice and tight.
I'm not sure why they did it with their air brakes out. It might just been to stir up the smoke (coloured paraffin I think), but more likely to keep them well to the right of the drag curve for greater speed stability. They would also need a higher engine RPM pushing it into a band where it's more responsive.
There was one more Waddington aircraft in the fly-past. If you can wait until 00:00:39, of the next video in the sequence, you'll see one of our three RC-135Ws which make regular trips to the Black, Baltic, and Barents Seas. I hope this works: BBC news video.
