Another vote for _The Stars, a New Way to See Them_ by H.A. Rey, better known for the Curious George books. He covers groups of constellations in a very memorable way, and also explains how & why the sky changes over the night and over the year. A given edition also shows where planets are for a range of a few years following its publication date, but older editions are fine for the stars :-)
