I bought a Replogle Celestial Globe on eBay. Metal, 6" diameter, free in a stand with a marked "equator".
it has some constellations marked with just stars and not with the gods and animal pictures (they offer that too). It's also outside looking in.
The disadvantage for me is the text is black on dark blue. It's pretty good. I'd say 75%+ of what you'd get with a Russian star globe but for $50-$100.
