Re: Stars in pop culture: two celestial where-are-you puzzles

Being lazy at heart, I decided to cheat on the spherical trig and used the great circle calculator on my smartphone to travel from Rigel 8°12’ S 006W to Alnilam 1°12’S 000E/W (ch.long is the SHA difference), which gave a course of 041.19.  This equates to a latitude of 48° 49’N, or maybe 41° 11’N.  I’m still struggling with that one.  However, neither of these trajectories swing easily into place on Navigator animation feature.  Neither do they tie in with LA or Moab, so it looks like it’s back to the drawing board.  I tried with my little celestial globe, but it's not really accurate enough to see where I'm going wrong.  DaveP
