    Drago, you're the second person who suggested the Southern Cross, and I agree that there's a resemblance... but no! :)




    Everyone else, be sure to click or "tap" on each image to enlarge. In the first image above, here's a hint: there are two of the official navigation stars in frame! Two!! And this one is easier than you might think. I'll add that it's a sideways constellation. It might be solved as a "latitude by equal altitudes" problem. For the second image, this is more of a case of deducing the movie based on a story about this "starfield". While it's possible you could determine your position from the stars in the second image --and please do, if you're able-- this one is more a case of getting your position from other knowledge about the "incident" in question. hint: SSN-589.
