Dear All To simulate a noon site on Stellarium, I set to Azimuth Grid view, then zoom into the lower limb of the Sun. As the Sun moves, you'll see it move up the grid, stop at transit and then move down Take "sights" before and after transit and plot on graph paper. I just add errors to the sights to try to simulate real life sextant reading errors -skys (!) the limit! Any thoughts? Cheers Ross
