Yes, you are in luck. In the NavList archives are several well written papers classifying the various historic techniques and clustering them by mathematical approach. Just use the search facility. You will be surprised at what's there.
Lunars are special. They are a gateway to a lot of history and surprisingly not many CelNavers know what it is. Explaining it to backyard astronomer types doesn't do much better.
Lunars are an excelent test of sextant skills and a good pulse. And, you have a way to test how good you are. Simply compare your computed GMT to the time of the actual site (or average time for a set of averaged sites).
There is a down side, however. You may be approached by someone who asks what you are doing. You need to have a good response ready to go. Saying that you are trying to tell what time it is often doesn't end well, especially if your wrist watch is showing.
