Ed Popko, a few days ago you wrote:

Safe assumption. If anyone tries to sell you any "Sun-Moon FAR" sights, put away your wallet and walk away. They do not exist. :)

A linguistic loophole: It is possible to shoot a weird "internal" lunar in which the image of the Moon is dragged on top of the image of the Sun and then the limb of the Moon is aligned with the further limb of the Sun, but that's not a "far limb" lunar. It's just something entirely different. If anyone ever hands you a lunar observation that you suspect was shot as an "internal" lunar like this, you can fix it and turn it into a "common" near limb lunar by subtracting the full diameter of the Sun (2SD) from the observed lunar distance. Then it can be analyzed in the usual way. All Sun-Moon lunars are near limb.
