Try this alternate method of plotting the Sun on a 2102-D base disc.
1. Set the 2102-D latitude template to the GHA of Aries for sunrise.
2. Use Bowditch table #27 (amplitudes) to determine Sun azimuth.
3. Plot Sun on 2101-D at the azimuth and zero altitude intersection as seen on the latitude template.
Linked image shows sunrise example for 0602 UT 11 October 2010 at 35° N latitude.
The Sun's altitude and azimuth can now be determined throughout the day by setting the latitude template to the LHA of Aries for the time of observation.
