Dave: I've been following the attempts to pinpoint locations at one of my favorite places. Your picture shows Raitea at the bottom and Tahaa above it, both inside the same reef. Between the two islands is a phenomena called "One Palm Island," and it's just that. A tiny island with a single palm tree growing on it. Above left is Bora Bora, and I didn't realize it was that close. The navigational note is that I was sailing from Raitea to Bora Bora when I took sun sights around noon to verify that my proposed method of determining position from a single body worked in the Southern Hemisphere. Of course, it did. Jim Wilson ____________________________________________________________ Auto Insurance Quotes Enter Zip Code and Compare Rates! How Much Can You Save?
