Yep, and each one of those small area plotting sheets that you constructed using the UPS would have been perfectly useful for plotting courses and fixes because those plotting sheets are Mercator charts. According to Frank, the UPS can be used to make other types of charts but he doesn't tell us how and I doubt that any other type of conformal chart can be constructed as easily as a Mercator.
