I realised my error. If PinA is always positive, then it has to be added to Ha to get Hc. So to get Ha you subtract PinA from Hc. That puts the Moon (as viewed) below the Sun, so no you can't shoot LL. You need to shoot HL. Thus reconfirming that the Moon remains the bete noir of Air Navigators. There's the odd minute of arc that needs tidying up here and there, but that can wait until tomorrow when I steal GHA and Dec Moon from somewhere other than the Air Almanac. DaveP
