That measurement was probably the measure of significance given the circumstance. I had considered it, but cloud cover precluded the measurement
I wonder how your result compares to the exact apparent diameter, given your precise location and time. Perhaps one of those 16 decimal place folks will provide the answer!

Attached is my snap of this super moon. Hard to tell the difference from a regularn full moon. A little brighter so the f stop would have to be shut down a half stop vs an average full moon. The diameter measured exactly 34 minutes of arc using a Tamaya Jupiter with a 7x35mm scope.
