I have an fx-82AU. It saves memory locations when the power is turned off but does not save expressions. It is back to school time and when I noticed that a local retailer had the fx9750G11 on special I considered buying one. My first step was to download the User manual. I discovered that the fx9750 is not designed for easy use of sexagesimal arithmetic. To enter DMS and convert between DMS and decimal degress requires a convoluted use of menus.

Contrast that with the fx-82AU where a single .,,, button performs those functions. The cosine formulas for Hc and t are easy to remember. I have decided that easy entry/manipulation of sexagesimal numbers is more important than saving expressions on power off.

I use the following convention with memory locations:

    A lat

    B dec

    C t

    D Ho

and can very quickly enter the Hc or the t formula.

The local retailer has the fx-82AU on sale for < NZ$ 20. They also have an  H + O Technology 82ES for < NZ$ 12. Looking at the keys the H + O appears to be a near clone of the fx-82AU and would probably be adequate for cellnav. Most importantly it has the .,,, button and at least four memories.
