I have also developed my own Excel spreadsheets where with the info from nautical almanac they calculate the sight reduction, triangulation with two sights and not estimated positions and even Lunars.
They also calculate Loxodrominc and Orthodromic courses including vertex. It took me a lot of time and patience, but I learned a lot by doing it.
Despite the modern softwares avaiable, I always wanted to keep practicing the use of the nautical almanac, the tables and the spherical trigonometry formulas.It make you think if the results make sense.
