Doug, while it's good to have good tools, I doubt it you would notice a significant difference between an Astra and a Tamaya. I have a Tamaya, and a Plath and a few others. The accuracy is in practice. In short, it's not the bow it's the Indian.
Personally I'd rather buy a sextant first hand if possible. It may be worth a few extra bucks seeing it first hand vice online via ebay etc. Still $500 may be a bit high for my pocket.
