Dear NavListers,
I have a 9 year old grandson for whom I would like to purchase a telescope.
With my limited childhood experience, I seem to prefer the refractors over reflectors when I was his age.
My parents bought me one that was just right for me. I can't describe it much more than to say It was on a tripod about my height; I enjoyed looking at the moon with it and things at a distance during the day time (I'm not sure that I would have been able to see the rings of Saturn with it not knowing where to look) and it was a refraction telescope. I'm pretty sure they did not pay a lot for it but I did enjoy it for a long time.
What would be a good one to buy today that would hold a young man's attention?
Best regards,
Steve E. Bryant
