The subject line of this message is taken from the article here: http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/home/16079237.html It is an under-statement! It's a big challenge. But if the weather is excellent and the sky beautifully clear, observers in some parts of the US will see a nice late afternoon occultation of Venus by a nearly invisible crescent Moon on Wednesday, March 5. Worth a try --IF conditions permit. Note that observers in the South Pacific, around Tahiti if I read it right, have much better viewing opportunities. Needless to say, this is a type of lunar distance observation, where the distance is zero. -FER --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ To post to this group, send email to NavList@fer3.com To , send email to NavList-@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
