I just spent 10 minutes trying to understand "your" puzzle about the SIRIUS figures, could be PROCYON as well, and comparison between both has not shed any light until now.
Except that the Navigator was most certainly using specific "time saving" tables ...
... still mysterious tables.
Actually, since the Marc Saint Hilaire Method is such a bullet proof one, I have almost dropped my attention from other methods, which I had to (and did) study and use in the past.
Let's now see when our next NavList Sherlock Holmes has found something reasonable to explain these puzzling figures about SIRIUS and PROCYON. Looking forward to it.
