The alignment is really interesting. It seems roughly aligned so north is at right, placing east at top. The chart shows Bikini at lower left and wotje at upper left, a bit to the right of the top left corner.
But one or two specific islands seem to be aligned on some other referent (perhaps swell diraction?). However, I am going by the labels taped next to the islands, so it is also possible (likely) that whoever put on the labels mismatched the names and islands.
