Re this, I wonder as to whatever happened, if anything, to/with the Navigator's Sliderule project. Time and inclination allowing, would you please bring me up to date regarding the project. Thanks. By the way, respecting the log-log scales on sliderules, I was never on speaking terms with them either, K & E Manuals, as I remember, discussed them and their use.
Back when I was gainfully employed as a Piping Designer/Draftsman, when we did pipe farbication detaining, we had to give dimensions to 1/16". Respecting developed lengths and offsets, no way to do the trig. involved with a sliderule, and get that degree of accuracy. Back in pre-calculator days, we used Smoley's Tables of Logs and Squares, which you might have come upon. I have seen copies listed in ebay recently. Some of the prices for second hand copies were quite amazing, when I remember what we paid for brand new copies in 1951-1952.
Take care.
