Hello Bob
Aside from the extraordinary scale length associated with a cylindrical scale (the Ah Ha! moment I had, realized by Francis), I have refrained from commenting on your project. Here are some recent thoughts.
May I suggest you offer the scales up as printable paper scales for the alpha release? This way, the handful of folks willing to test drive them will provide meaningful feedback, prior to any commitment to metal.
A beta release can incorporate the changes back to that feedback group, with a revision 1.0 (third set of scales, now twice reviewed) being the formal commitment to hard scales that you offer for sale.
This will prevent "whoops!" mistakes that leave you with a useless pile of unusable slide rules!!

>>In the time / speed / distance problems, I think you are working way too
hard. It's easier if you forget about multiplication, division, and
formulas. Instead, think in terms of distance on D and time on C. <<Wow, Paul. This is pretty compelling. I will play around with this for a while, and then revise the user manual a little after that.
Thank you!
Bob
