Stan is correct the Pickett slide rules were made of magnesium and had a corssion problem. My K&EN 4081-3 which I purchased in 1951 is made of rose wood and is still in excelant condition. Another popular slide rule, in the 1950s, was the Post which I think was make of bamboo.
