I can still remember my Welsh Applied Maths teacher in 1960 pounding the blackboard and saying “Compound with B a velocity equal and opposite to A” (or was it the other way around!).
Well, against my better judgement, I bid for it at the base price and won, so I’ll soon know. Actually, I suspect no one else was interested in it. That’s probably because they didn’t spot the mechanism from the Bigsworth Board, which was the real reason I was prepared to invest £25. It would be nice to think that the fact that the two came up together was because they once belonged to the observer in something like a Fairy Swordfish torpedo bomber, but I think that would be wishful thinking. Let’s hope everything's refurbishable. DaveP
