Thanks all for your comments... A few days ago, I had a chance to test my artifical horizon with the new 9-inch mirror with the sun, Venus and a few stars. I also did a meridian and a latitude from Polaris. I'm attaching the chart. All in all, I was very happy with the results. Most within a mile and a half, except for Polaris and Sirius (within 3 miles). I was shooting through a window though.
A few times I had a larger error and checked the leveling of the mirror. Each and every time the leveling was a bit off. My conclusion is that if I take the time to perfectly level the mirror, the precision can easily be under a mile.
Stars are very easy to shoot with the mirror. The relexion is awesome. For the sun, I had to use all three horizon filters (on my Astra IIIb).
