Hi, My solution for my KOLLSMAN MA1 looks as follows: - I made an adaptor from PA6 (Nylon) which consists of two halves, movable in relation to each other (see photos). - This device acts an an clamping interface bewteen the sextant's foot (four stuts hold the circular pendulous mirror housing) an the tripod's head (ARCRA swiss type clamp). The rubber cord is mainly a safety device. - The tripod head can be adjusted to level (by a spherical base) and the head will then be switched to "only horizontal movement mode" (i.e. azimuth) - By that the sextant is always (sufficiently) level when turned by following the sun/moon/planet/star. - A sample photo is attached showing the sun's image (some tree branches visible) and the two horizoinzal hairlines (I removed the wrinkled pellicle with a thin microscope sample glas carrier). - The original MA1's eletrical 28 Volts system is modified to 3 Volts (salvaged from a KOLLSMAN periscopic sextant). By that I can use a modified flashlight with two AA batteries as a convenient power source. - Since I did not have the original bag for the sextant, I made one (a wooden box) by myself which also holds the accessories. (N.B. Tripod and head a made by the German manufacturer BERLEBACH) Regards, Werner
